The MSc Artificial Intelligence is a specialist postgraduate programme designed
to build the technical depth and professional readiness needed for a career in Artificial Intelligence. The course places equal emphasis on the real-world application and industry relevance of AI and on the cutting-edge techniques and emerging trends shaping the field.


The programme draws on the University of East Anglia's School of Computing Sciences, its proximity to Norwich Research Park, and its research and industry links with organisations including Apple, Aviva, BT and IBM.

What the Programme Covers

  • Core AI theory and principles, including machine learning, reasoning and intelligent systems design.
  • Python programming as applied to AI development.
    Advanced and specialised AI techniques, and emerging trends in the field.
  • Real-world, industry-relevant applications of AI across sectors such as transport, manufacturing, finance, healthcare and government.
  • Professional and research skills preparing graduates for employment or further study.
  • An independent dissertation project, assessed by practical demonstration
    and oral examination.

Programme Structure

  • Compulsory modules in Advanced AI and Professional Skills.
  • Optional Module Group A (40 credits).
  • Optional Module Group B (40 credits).
  • Dissertation module.
