HND Computing Student Wins National Hackathon
A second-year HND Computing student from CIC took first place at a national hackathon with an AI-powered accessibility tool.
Congratulations to Nethmi Perera, a second-year HND Computing student, who won first place at the National Tech Hackathon 2026.
Her project — an AI-assisted screen reader extension — was praised by judges for its real-world impact and clean technical execution.
Faculty from the School of IT supported Nethmi throughout the competition, and she credits her module work on programming and UX for giving her the foundation to succeed.
